So after my weekend of drinking/junk food I'm finally back down to my last WI weight of 210 on the scale. This is quite a relief and gives me a few more days before my next WI (hopefully I see a loss!)
1. I have set a new long-term goal - To lose another 40 lbs and be at 170 in time for my 26th birthday. December 6 - which is approx 6 months away. It is very possible!
2. I have a new addiction - PC Waffle Cones
I have been having having these w/ frozen yogurt every night. There's just something about spring and BBQ season that makes me crave ice cream! These are an awesome treat and not too harsh on the calorie budget either!
3. Exercise-wise I know my gym membership will not be used much this summer. My hectic work schedule makes it easier to just got dropped off here in the morning and walk home. I've accpeted that and have kept up w/ exercise 3-4 days/week - running/walking. Plus the yardwork keeps me active as well. I do miss the strength training/spin classes and will resume those when the time is right.

Ugh Mondays...
Yesterday was great - got in lots of veggies, h20; went for a 5k run and spent half of the afternoon doing yard work. Now for some reason this morning I'm nauseated and feel like I've been ran over by a truck. Seems like every muscle in my body is sore and my stomach is just in knots. Even my coffee is not appealing.... wonder if I caught some type of bug.
Hopefully this doesn't last long b/c weather-wise this week looks awesome - lots of sun and warm temps in the forecast!
Here's to a great week gals!!

I Remembed Why I Don't Drink
Yup, I'm totally fine without having alcohol in my life (minus the occasional glass of wine or two.) The evening started off great but I got caught up in the "all you can drink for 2 hours" and ended up drinking waaaay too much in that time. Yesterday was the first time I've been hung-over since I was 17. It was not pleasant. It also may have involved 2 McDonald's cheeseburgers. I ended up canceling lunch w/ my grandmother and my training session, Yes it really was that bad.
Anyways got lots of sleep and am feeling mostly better today. Pouring the h2o and coffee into the system. For breakfast I had a salad and a banana. I'm going to attempt to go out for a run this afternoon if I'm not napping. I guess I'm getting too old to party :)
Oh and this morning I officially signed up for the Natal Day Road Race. It's only a 2 miler so it will be pretty easy. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!!
GOOD LUCK TODAY AMY!!!!

Exhausted.
All these extra hours at work, trying to keep up with the house and exercise have made for a very tired Lynn.
I got home yesturday and opted to lay in bed all night and watch TV. I was not in the mood to cook so we got a pizza - which I may have over-indulged in. Opps. Moving on though! No way in hell I was going to WI this morning with all that sodium in my system so I'm coping out and waiting until next Saturday for my WI. That's the way life goes; I'm not worried about missing one WI, in fact I'm a bit excited for a larger loss next week!
I decided to take a half of a vacation day and leave work at Noon today. I have so much stuff to get done. Tonight we're going out to the Brewery (and of course its raining.... and I'm not really looking forward to it too much at this point) and then at 10am tomorrow we have a training session at the gym until 11:30am (BTW gym, what gym? Haven't been in 3 weeks....) and then I'm meeting up w/ my cousin so that we can take my grandmother out for lunch at Noon. So if I decided to drink, I will most likely end up hung over... making both the training and visit w/ my Nan umm fun?... :)
Sorry to be such a crank today, it is Friday though so here's to a fantastic one!!

Chilled to the Bone!
Well it's such a dreary day here...chilly, rainy and gray. I'm freezing yet again. I seem so cold all the time, wonder if it's weight loss related? Think I will take tonight to catch up on a some shows that I've missed over the last few weeks and maybe get a load of laundry done.
I got in a great run last night, 5K around my neighborhood. I tried to stick to the pavement as much as possible (as opposed to the side of the road which is so much easier!) and purposely chose a route with lots of hills. It was hard but I stuck to the 10:1 routine and it seemed to work well for me!!
The week is half over already! Yah!!!. Friday night we're going to a Keith's Brewery promo event for their new lager. It's all you can drink for 3 hours. We're going with a huge group from Scotiabank (and my gal Lori, my bro & his g/f.) Should be a good time, we're going out to dinner first and then to the brewery.
Anyways, calorie-wise I'm on track, scale still shows me up a pound, but I've been craving salty food lately so that's why. I'm sure I can get rid of it by Friday morning though. (Have to WI early due to brewery night and being away from home.)
Have a great day!

The Addiction Has Started....
I now have 2 more runs lined up: On August 4th I'm doing the Natal Day Road Race (just the 2 Miler b/c I didn't think I could pull off training for a 6 miler in 2.5 months!) and then the CIBC Run For The Cure 5K on October 5th. My plan is to train hard all Winter and then complete the 10K in next year's Blue Nose Marathon! I really enjoyed Sunday and can see how people become addicted to running :)
The rest of my weekend went well, got lots of cleaning done yesturday and then caught up on Desperate Housewives. The season finale was AWESOME!!!
Now I feel lazy and don't want to be at work though :-P Hope everyone has a wonderful (short) week!

Crossed That Finish Line!!!!
So the run was fantastic! In all I really honestly can't tell you gals how happy I am; I can't believe how far I've come in less than a year. I thought I was gonna to cry when I made it through the finish line....instead I ended up up-chucking the small amount of Gatorade I drank a km back.:-S No, really, I crossed the finish line and about 5 seconds later.... But I got my medal and that's all the matters :) My time was a tad slow b/c I haven't been running on pavement just the side of the road/subdivision. I completed the run in 41:24, which I'm fine with. I'm going to continue to train over the summer and hope to see an improvement for the Run For The Cure 5K in the fall.
I got to meet up with lovely Angie and Tash before hand! I felt a bit nervous earlier that morning but once we meet it was like we already knew each other. As most of you know this was both Angie's and my first run and I was so excited and giddy, the waiting was so slow too. But we DID it!!

Last Run Before the Blue Nose!!
So this is what I did this evening (when it finally stopped raining.) FYI: Never wear different sneakers than you're used to... my feet are sore. Plus I wore a diff coat (a fleece one since it was chilly out) and I was SO hot by the time I got home. And it was windy and the route I chose was very hilly. But I did it. Yah!!!
My WI - Holy Sh*t!
Current Weight: 210.0
Start Weight: 286.5
Lost This Week: -3.4
Dow 3.4lbs.... where is this coming from??? WOW, what an awesome way to start my exciting weekend!!!
All I can say is that lately I've been all about the veggies - pumpkin in my morning oatmeal, greek salad every day for lunch, grilled veggies and a salad of some type for supper. I'm defiantly stocking up for next week if this is the result.
Anywho.... made it over to get up my race kit (which includes my chip, paper bib thingy w/ my number and name, a BRIGHT yellow shirt - unsure if I'm going to wear it tomorrow or not, and loads of other swag) and view the Active Living Expo. Took the ferry both ways and had a chance to enjoy the sunshine and harbour. Was great, I picked up a few things: new h20 bottle w/ the Bluenose logo, a pair of red laces for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign (for every pair that crosses the finish line Scotiabank donates $ to the cause,) Running Room socks & a hat. Plus I got all kinda of info on Team Diabetes, which is something that I've been seriously considering for awhile... since its a cause close to me - both my Dad and I have diabetes so it only makes sense. The problem is the fund raising amounts are so high and I'm not sure I have the time right now for that type of commitment. Maybe once work settles down.
I will update after the run tomorrow, hopefully w/ pics!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful looooooooooooong weekend!!!!

And It Begins....
So excited for the weekend, its unreal!! Got my bib # this morning and tonight I'm going to pick up my race kit. I kinda want to take the afternoon off work to go over and do that, plus I need new headphones (figures they'd go all crackily now) and a few other items. I really can't be any more excited than I am now, lol... is it bad to say that I'm more excited than I was at my wedding or prom?! :)
My plan is to get in a run tomorrow even if it's raining. Hopefully it will let up a bit and I will get out there....even the evil, change-on-a-moments-notice Nova Scotia weather seems to be cooperating for Sunday though!
